My home is nowhere near perfect. In fact, I struggle with it.
I’m gone a lot with work and getting the kids where they need to be, so my home gets pushed to the back of the list on most days. Still, it is where I come to feel connected and centered. Though it’s not nearly what I want it to be, it’s getting there. So today’s photos reflect some of the comforts of home.
- The trees in my backyard. I love how they circle the whole yard.
- Bugsy, the poodle we found in the street two years ago.
- Kelly, our sweet rescue collie, who is now almost 10.
- And Jack, our ever-hyper, ever-loyal Welsh Sheepdog, also a rescue.
- My dad put this gate up for me in 1995. Just one of the many things he did to help me out.
- My favorite chair in the front room. Also from my dad.
- I found this hardened sea biscuit fossil at Ocean Isle years ago. It sits by my office desk.
